A hundred Maranao women were trained to become facilitators in Women Friendly Spaces (WFS) of evacuation camps to support psychosocial therapy and counselors’ sessions for Marawi siege evacuees. The 3-day training was attended by women from Marawi city, Buadipuso Buntong, Ditsa-an Ramain, and Balindong, Lanao del Sur. Marawi evacuees undergo training on organic agriculture to make them productive in agricultural development in Lanao Sur and adapt on alternative revenue generating opportunity. Community participatory planning in 12 brgys of Lanao Sur completed

Maradeca Inc. held consultative meetings in 12 barangays of Lanao del Sur to develop Community Service Improvement Plan in the next five years. These consultative meetings were undertaken in two barangays of Bubong town, four barangays in Buadiposo Buntong municipality, and six barangays in Lumbatan town. Civil society in Lanao Sur conducted a forum on transitional justice and reconciliation (TJR) at MSU-main campus to know the government’s program for Marawi’s rehabilitation and to determine the relevance of transitional justice and reconciliation in reconstruction phase.  “There are many things to consider in the actual rehabilitation of Marawi and such must reflect the perspectives of the Maranao constituents,” said Guiamel Alim, chairperson of CBCS, the main resource person. Young learners’ progress evaluated

An assessment was conducted for early young learners in two barangays in Bubong municipality to measure their progress in reading, comprehension, and cognitive retention of transmitted knowledge. The assessment, done through tests and creative arts, intended to gather empirical developments of the child’s cognitive, language, social-emotional, and approaches to learning. It also helps identify children who may need additional support and likewise help educators plan her instruction to ensure that no one is left behind in the learning process. Fourteen school administrators and representatives convene in a conference which aimed at establishing Early Response Network to address emerging tendency of youths to embrace violent extremism. These school officials came from various national high school in Lanao del Sur. They discussed some measures that could possibly prevent violent extremism and formulated some guidelines regarding youths’ participation in activities which propagate extremist tendencies.
