Humanizing IDPs lives: partition walls & shelter kits given to families in diaspora

To humanize and improve the condition in the evacuation centers, partition walls  with shelter kits were constructed to provide a bit of necessary privacy and health safeguards per displaced family in five evacuation sites. A total of 459 partition walls and 4,541 shelter kits were distributed to IDP families in Iligan and Pantar evacuation centers. Maranao peoples organizations conducted its 3-year strategic planning for peace and governance program. The organizations involved in this planning are Ompongan O manga Bae sa Ranao (OBAIRA), Ompongan o manga Taribasok sa Ranao (OTR), and Maranao Youth for Peace and Development (MYPD). Whether in crowded homes of relatives or cramping in evacuation sites, information and education on hygiene and sanitation are important to remind Marawi’s internally displaced communities about preventing health risks and related diseases. To this end, Maradeca Inc. and its partners hold “hygiene promotion” initiatives in 30 evacuation villages in Pantar, Saguiaran, and in Marawi city from January 11 to February 28. Plan International and Maradeca Inc. in cooperation with the local government officials in three towns constructed and formally turned-over Women and Children Friendly Spaces in separate occasions within February-March 2018. Community working groups to monitor PAMANA implementation

Thirty six community working groups (CWG) are organized in the towns of Buadiposo and Malabang in Lanao del Sur as preparatory for grassroot-based monitoring initiatives when projects under Pamana ng Masaganag Pamayanan (PAMAA) in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) will be implemented in the areas.
