A 100 Maranao women for lingering trauma, mental health care

A hundred Maranao women were trained to become facilitators in Women Friendly Spaces (WFS) of evacuation camps to support psychosocial therapy and counselors’ sessions for Marawi siege evacuees. The 3-day training was attended by women from Marawi city, Buadipuso Buntong, Ditsa-an Ramain, and Balindong, Lanao del Sur. Trained women are expected to conduct 35 psychosocial sessions with displaced communities in their respective areas from October 2018 to February 2019 to address lingering emotional trauma and mental health concerns. Marawi evacuees undergo training on organic agriculture to make them productive in agricultural development in Lanao Sur and adapt on alternative revenue generating opportunity. These evacuees cum beneficiaries are temporary residents of 11 barangays: Cabasaran, Raya Guimba, Diolangan, Salipongan, Lumbac, Langi Talub, Macabangon Imbaba Nanagun, Moriatao Datu,  Tangkal and Sugod of Madalum, Lanao del Sur.
