Two market hubs constructed for local entrepreneurs

Two market hubs were constructed along the highway of Pindolonan, Bubong and in Nanagun, Lumbayanague of Lanao Sur which will provide spaces for local entrepreneurs and Maradeca Inc.’s partner peoples organizations to sell their products. The Market Hub 1 in Pindulunan is already functional since May 2019 with additional constructed extension spaces for micro-business operation. Market Hub 2 is expected to be fully operational either this August or September 2019. WASH facilities benefited 102 households

To increase children and community’s access for safe water necessary for hygiene and sanitation, four cubicles of latrines were constructed and two water pumps in barangay barangay Langi Talub, Masiu and in Moriatao Datu, Lumbayanague of Lanao Sur. The project benefited 102 households. Maradeca Inc. and Caritas-Australia supported the construction of WASH facilities to discourage open defecation and nurture good hygiene specially among children. “Community visitors can also use our comfort rooms. Community advocates for women and children protection against all forms of violence and those who care for persons with disabilities (PWDs) were oriented on April 15-18, 2009 about systematic referral system to increase access from government and non-government agencies’ humanitarian services. Maradeca Inc. trained community leaders in early warning response for disaster management and helped create local mechanisms to empower residents in conflict transformation. Participants of the  “Training on Monitoring Mechanism Response” were from barangays Diolangan and Salipungan in Bubong, barangay Langi Talub of Masiu, and barangay Moriatau Datu “Wago” of Lumbayanague, Lanao del Sur. In perseverance, Maranao women finally forms tailoring cooperative

There is opportunity for those who persevere. This adage applies to Ompongan o mga Bae sa Ranao (OBAERA) –composed of 22 Maranao women of barangay Langi Talub of Masiu town, who finally formalized their registration in Cooperative Development Authority to pursue collectively their dressmaking venture. Capturing their market, they earned the sum of P41,000 for sewing and selling abaya, mokna, salimot, bags, flaglets for occasion, and wallets. The women organization was a recent beneficiary of four sewing machines, one zigzag machine and dress-making accessories and fabrics which inspired them to establish its tailoring shop that started accepting orders in November 2019.
