Community working groups to monitor PAMANA implementation

Thirty six community working groups (CWG) are organized in the towns of Buadiposo and Malabang in Lanao del Sur as preparatory for grassroot-based monitoring initiatives when projects under Pamana ng Masaganag Pamayanan (PAMAA) in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) will be implemented in the areas.

The CWG will play a crucial role in to monitor and uphold transparency in the implementation of PAMANA 2017 projects including its sustainability. CWG will be involved in community planning, identification of beneficiaries, and determine the selection system.

The CWG was organized with the involvement of barangay local executives and its sectoral representatives gauging on peoples participation and equal representation principles.

The peoples involvement at the barangay level in this development agenda will fortify the bottoms-up approach in the identification and validation of beneficiaries in coordination with municipal local government units.

Moreover, two municipal technical working group (MTWG) were also organized in the towns as part of the agreements between Maradeca and OPAPP-IOM aimed to strengthen the community-based working groups monitoring functions. The MTWG is also mandated to participate in the identification of PAMANA beneficiaries and selection process.

MTWG and the CWG will coordinate closely to ensure that beneficiaries get to benefit directly from all interventions and assistance that will be poured
