IDPs from two evacuation camps were served by the MARADECA and Catholic Relief Service on March 21 and 22, 2017 that distributed relief goods at the Libyan Hospital and in Dhyfullah, Marawi. The goods contained water and hygiene kits.
Prior to the distribution activity, the service agencies agreed with the beneficiaries that only the IDP’s will be included and the rest of the unidentified people will be excluded from the activity. A distribution of claim stubs was given on the first day within the two camps.
On March 21, 2017 the team distributed the water and hygiene kits in Dhyfullah and on March 22, 2017 at the Libyan Hospital.
Aside from relief goods distribution, MARADECA and CRS conducted an orientation on proper hygiene promotion, a Focused Group Discussion with the men, women and youth and a psychosocial session for young children.
The team was so glad that the activity went on as expected since they have seen the gratification and satisfaction on the face of the beneficiaries.
A distribution system was applied in the process as the beneficiaries were organized and briefed during the proper receiving of the kits, prioritizing IDPs according to of the PWD, Pregnant and senior citizen which can easily receive their kits and avoid stampede.
The operation was a success.
