Two market hubs constructed for local entrepreneurs

Two market hubs were constructed along the highway of Pindolonan, Bubong and in Nanagun, Lumbayanague of Lanao Sur which will provide spaces for local entrepreneurs and Maradeca Inc.’s partner peoples organizations to sell their products.

The Market Hub 1 in Pindulunan is already functional since May 2019 with additional constructed extension spaces for micro-business operation.

Market Hub 2 is expected to be fully operational either this August or September 2019.

Ompongan sa Taribasaok (OTR), a group of farmers, and OBAERA, a women’s association, along with Maradeca Inc. leased the parcels of land to realize the construction of these hubs.

In Market Hub 1, partners have started selling farm products like vegetables and their other harvests.

They also sell handicrafts like wallets, sling bags, handbags, and garments used by Muslims like mokna and abaya. There were also those who sells grocery items.

These Maranao vendors have already participated in Kawiyagan exhibit organized by Task Force Bangon Marawi, a coordinative body established under the Office of the President composed of relevant inter-agency tasked to address the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Marawi city.

Partner organizations had also made a market survey in Iligan and Cagayan de Oro cities to establish its market supply chain. These

farm produce include  fruits and vegetables like eggplant, carrots, okra, tomato, bell pepper (atsal), sayote, squash, cucumber, radish, and beans.
