Catch-Up Immunization Outreach Conducted at Barangay Maranat Buntalis, Masiu, Lanao del Sur

In an effort to strengthen community health and ensure no child is left behind, a Catch-Up Immunization Outreach was successfully conducted on April 24, 2025, at Barangay Maranat Buntalis, Masiu. The activity aimed to reach children who had missed their scheduled immunizations, particularly those affected by service disruptions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The outreach, supported under the COVID-19 Vaccination and Routine Immunization Delivery Support Program, provided essential vaccines to safeguard children against common preventable diseases. Health workers and local volunteers collaborated closely to ensure that the vaccination drive was accessible, well-organized, and inclusive, particularly targeting underserved and geographically isolated families.

Aside from administering vaccines, the event also served as an opportunity to raise awareness among parents and caregivers about the importance of completing the immunization schedule for their children. Health education sessions were held on-site to address vaccine hesitancy and promote greater community participation in routine immunization programs.

This initiative reflects the continuing commitment of MARADECA-Relief International to support public health efforts, mitigate the effects of the pandemic on essential health services, and protect the future generation through improved healthcare delivery.

Through sustained immunization efforts like this, communities such as Barangay Maranat Buntalis move closer to achieving stronger, healthier, and more resilient futures.
